Anne J. Tannous (nee O'Donovan) died on February 24, 2024, after listening to her children sing songs that she taught them when they were young. She was the loving wife of Daniel S. Tannous, Sr. to whom she was married for 57 years before his death in 2011. Born in Sayre, PA, Anne was the daughter of the late John D. and Margaret J. (Austin) O'Donovan. She was predeceased by her sister Mary M. O'Donovan. She was a graduate of Sayre High School, Sayre, PA, and Sacred Heart School of Nursing, Allentown, PA.She began her career as a registered nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital after which Anne spent many years instilling self-discipline, responsibility, honesty, and trust in her 9 children. For 10 years, she drove school bus #13 for Parkland School District where her students knew her as "AJ." She then returned to her nursing career at Sacred Heart Hospital for a number of years before finishing 10 years at Lehigh Valley Hospital, retiring in 1993.Anne enjoyed traveling. She and Dan cruised many islands, she and her sister Mary visited many European countries, she reveled in annual summer vacations to Wildwood Crest with the Tannous Clan, and she cherished her final trip abroad to Ireland in 2013.Anne's love and devotion to her family, along with her deep faith, sense of humor, acts of kindness, and compassionate care of others will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.Survivors are her children: Daniel (Anita); Lisa (George Isaacson); Michael (Mary); Timothy (Karen); Nicholas (AnnaMarie); Rita; Teresa (Chet Hiester); Margaret (Stephen Shackleford); and Patrick (Robin). She also leaves behind her 19 grandchildren who loved their Grandmama and 23 great grandchildren who loved their GGMA.Funeral mass: Friday, March 1, 2024, 10:00, Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena Church, 18th & Turner Streets., Allentown.
