Cecelia C. Ayers, 96, passed away March 30, 2016 in Lehigh Valley Hospital 17th & Chew, Allentown, PA. She was the daughter of the late Reuben Bernard and Bella (Laganosky) Spire. She was married to the late Cletus E Ayers for 40 yrs.Cecelia was a graduate of Allentown Hospital School of Nursing where she received her Registered Nursing degree in 1941 and she continued working there for many years in the PT Dept. She was also a private duty Nurse in the Lehigh Valley for many years. When she retired she volunteered for the hospital gift shop. Cecelia was a Lifetime member of the Allentown Hospital Alumnae Assoc for many yrs. She was a member of the Cathedral St Catharine of Siena Catholic Church and Golden Agers at church. She loved gardening, traveling with her sister and playing cards at church and at the Lehigh County Senior Center. Survivors: daughter: Nancy and husband Richard Coleman of Pottstown and son: James Ayers and wife Fair of Leola, Sister: Clara S Butchko. 3 Grandchildren, Matthew Coleman, Kaye Kolde and Michael Ayers; 4 Great Grandchildren, Emi Kolde, Gray Kolde, Sabrina Coleman, Cassie Coleman. Predeceased by her brothers, Paul, Vincent, Leo and Alvin Spire and sisters, Marcella Berube, and Caroline Delanney. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 5 in Cathedral St. Catharine Of Siena Church, 1825 W. Turner St., Allentown.
