Charles John McDermott Hair, Esquire, of Allentown passed away November 29, 2014 surrounded by his family. The son of the late Francis H. (US Commissioner of Eastern PA) and the late Margaret (McDermott) Hair, he was the widower of the late Teresa M. (Bonner) Hair. Atty. Hair was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, the University of Virginia Tech, School of Business/Accounting, Editor of University Yearbook, Member of Honorary Journalism Fraternity, and Member of Publication Board. He attended University of Pennsylvania School of Law, graduated from St. John's University School of Law in 1966 and was admitted to New York Bar and Pennsylvania Bar in 1967. He also graduated from the School of Naval Justice. He participated in Naval Intelligence, served on submarines and destroyers in the Atlantic Fleet, participated in Bay of Pigs Invasion, and retired as Lieutenant Commander in US Naval Reserve. He began his law career as an attorney with Snyder, Doll & Schantz and later retired as Lehigh County Public Defender. He established the law firm of Hair & Jordan and Law Offices of Charles J. Hair, Esq. He was admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. He enjoyed scuba diving, world traveling, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, reading and boating. Survivors: Partner, Cynthia Kemmerer; children: Kelly Szita and Tally (Charles) Hair; sister Patricia Hair, brother Francis Hair, Jr.; grandchildren: Holly and Haley Szita, Drake and Daxon Hair, Cullen Konya, Charles Hair, as well as, Samantha and Shannon Fichter. He was predeceased by his daughter Bridgetta Hair, stepson Scott Fichter and sister Margaret Kline. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 2nd in the Cathedral Church of St. Catharine of Siena, 18th & Turner Sts., Allentown. Interment is private.
