Donald Carl Nelson, 95, peacefully went home to the Lord on Friday July 28, 2017. He was one of the kindest souls you would have had the privilege to meet. Mechanically inclined, he served in the Army Air Corp ending as a Corporal, as an Aerial Engineer assisting in delivering new planes to both fronts during World War II. Born in Detroit Michigan, and raised by his mother during the depression, he was a hard worker who both owned a business earlier in life, and worked for various companies throughout his career, ending as a Sales Manager for Swift Microscopes. Don was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Edith Marie (Godfrey), he is survived by his sister Ada Drinkwater (husband the late Everett), of Houston Arkansas, son Gary E. (wife Gail) of Scottsdale AZ., daughter Mari-Cay Hartman (husband Mike) of Allentown, PA, grandsons Blake (wife Kim and children Amber, Amanda, Allie, Anna, Alaina, Autumn, Arrow, Abel, and Asher) of Rock Spring Georgia, and Brady (wife Jennifer, twins Olivia and Abigail) of Scottsdale, AZ.,4 nephews, 2 nieces, 1 great nephew, 3 great nieces and 1 great-great niece. The family would like to thank the loving kindness of the staff of Fellowship Manor & Compassionate Care Hospice for their support in the last few weeks.
