Elizabeth D. “Betty” Hausman, 89, formerly of Allentown, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, at Sacred Heart Senior Living by Saucon Creek in Center Valley, Pennsylvania.
A proud graduate of William Allen High School, Class of 1954, she was the daughter of the late George W. Seip and Ethel Mae (Harper) Seip; and the widow of the late John J. Hausman, who passed away in 1992. Together, she and John shared more than 33 years of marriage.
Following graduation, she began her career as a bookkeeper for Moviestar in Allentown. While she held other positions in the textile industry before concluding her working years as a server at a senior living facility, she spent many years as a homemaker for her husband and children.
Betty enjoyed old movies, music, crewel embroidery, playing cards, bingo, and sharing stories with family and friends. One of her favorite memories to recount was traveling across the country by rail with her father, George, an engineer for the Lehigh Valley Railroad. Betty treasured her family and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding great joy in cheering them on at their sporting events, activities, and life’s many milestones.
She is survived by her son, David (Kasey) Hausman of Fogelsville, PA, and her daughter, Michelle (Robert) Tust of Portland, PA; her sister Dorothy (John) Spaar of Simpsonville, SC; and her grandchildren: Lauren (Patrick) McCann, James (Jasmine) Heffernan IV, Ian Heffernan, Reese Hausman, Mack Hausman, and Brynn Hausman. She is also survived by her four great‑grandchildren: David Quiroz-Pele, Lilian Heffernan, James Heffernan V, and Delaney McCann. She was predeceased by her grandson, Cole Hausman and her great-granddaughter Madelyn McCann; sisters Betty Jane Seip, Evelyn Hontz, and Ruth Seip; and brothers Charles Seip and George Seip, Jr.
