James Joseph Nagy

James Joseph Nagy, age 92, of Allentown passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2026. Mr. Nagy was born January 26, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA. He is the son of the late James T and the late Marie V (McKelvey) Nagy. He was married to the deceased Mary J (Recker) for 49 yrs. 

He served in the Air Force during the Korean war. He was a Guidance Counselor at Harrison Morton Middle School for 26 yrs, a teacher at Dieruff high school in Allentown for 3 yrs and a English teacher in Phillipsburg High School in Phillipsburg, NJ for 5 yrs. He retired from teaching in 1996. 

Mr. Nagy was a member of Cathedral St. Catharine Of Siena Catholic Church in Allentown where he was a lector and usher at the 10:30 AM Mass. He was a 4th Degree Knight Of Columbus Council # 14397, Allentown, PA. VP and president of PA Assoc School Retirees of Lehigh County, and a Past President of Allentown Schoolmen's Club. He was a member of the Division 1 Ancient Order Of Hibernians. 

He is survived by his daughter: Jennifer (Derek) M McCauley of Allentown, PA; Brother of one sister: Mary R Ferry of Scottsdale, AZ. He also has Three grandchildren., Rhiannon Duch, Hayley Duch and Kerridwen McCauley. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:45 am on Saturday, August 22 at Cathedral St. Catharine Of Siena Church, 1825 W. Turner St., Allentown, PA with officiating. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December 30 at Robert C Weir Funeral Home, 1802 Turner St., Allentown, PA. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Wescosville on at . Calling hours will be Saturday, August 22 from 9:00 10:30 AM at Robert C Weir Funeral Home, 1802 Turner St., Allentown, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cathedral St. Catharine Of Siena Church, 1825 W. Turner St., Allentown, PA 18104
