Joyce Ann Clause, 80, of Allentown, died peacefully on May 20, 2018, in the Phoebe Home surrounded by her family. Joyce was the wife of Sherwood F. Clause with whom she celebrated 61 years of marriage on January 2. She was born in Wilson Borough. Joyce was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Anna T. (Meyers) Muretta. She was a 1956 graduate of Wilson Borough High School. Joyce was a member of the Cathedral Church of St. Catharine of Siena, Allentown, and a member of the Women's Alliance, the Cathedral Parish Choir, and the Allentown Diocesan Choir. She actively and faithfully served the choirs from 1960 to 2008. Joyce was a former kitchen aide at the Cathedral School. She was employed at Leh's and later Hess's department stores. Joyce was a caregiver for children in her home for 25 years until her retirement in 2000. She was an excellent cook and baker, and always eager to host a party. Joyce loved her kitty cats almost as much as she loved cooking for her family and friends. Survivors: her husband; two children: Brian K. Clause of Lower Macungie Township, PA and Cheryl A. Ott of Chester Springs, PA; five grandchildren: Amanda M. Clause, Kenneth J. Clause, Tyler A. Ott, Alyssa N. Ott, and Connor A. Ott; three great grandchildren: Ava, Kapprihanna, and Jazelynn and sister, Carol Snyder, wife of Robert Snyder.
