Katherine Finkbeiner Newell, 100, of Allentown, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014 in Cedarbrook, Allentown, PA. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Charlotte (Mallatratt) Finkbeiner. During her early married life, Katherine traveled with her military husband before settling down in Allentown to be near her mother and sisters. An avid collector of dolls, family and guests recall many filled display cases in her home in Allentown. In her later years she became active Christ Church UCC in Bethlehem where she found a warm welcome. As the oldest sister, Katherine often cared for her sisters and enjoyed family reunions at Lake Naomi in the Poconos. Survivors: She is survived by four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Katherine was predeceased by her husband David, her daughter Sandra Heller Durre and her sisters Gretchen Finkbeiner, Patricia Finkbeiner and Charlotte Young. Services: 9:00 a.m. Saturday, November 22nd in the Robert C Weir Funeral Home, 18th & Turner Sts., Allentown.
