Marcia Shanton Jones, 80, of Allentown, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, Salisbury Twp., PA. She was the daughter of the late Franklin and Helen (Keglovitz) Shanton. Marcia was married to William T Jones for 58 yrs. Marcia graduated from Central Catholic and West Chester College. She enjoyed teaching for 34 years as an elementary school teacher in the Allentown School District before she retired in 1992. During those years Marcia served as principal's aide at the former Wilson School and received the Valley Forge Teachers Medal Award. In retirement Marcia remained active in the Retired Teachers Association and served as a volunteer at the Allentown Ecumenical Food Bank. She routinely served as a volunteer for local political campaigns. Marcia enjoyed gardening, traveling with her husband, golf, the theatre, the ladies in the Red Hat Society and spending time with her family. She was a member of St Thomas More Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband: William T Jones, daughter: Gwen Wife Of Jeffrey Wetzel of Bel Air, MD and son: Christopher Husband Of Eileen Jones of Johns Creek, GA along with 3 grandchildren Joshua Wetzel, William Jones and Clare Jones.
