Mary Jean Foote Sittler

Mary Jean Foote Sittler, age 71, passed away unexpectedly in her home on April 1, 2026. She graduated from William Allen in 1972, and was a member of both the swim and dance team. From an early age, she developed a passion for textiles and fashion, finding great joy in designing and creating her own clothing. She initially pursued this interest at the University of Delaware. She began her Law Career at age 13 working in her father’s law practice, Dean L. Foote Esq. Due to a family illness, she returned to the Law Practice and earned a B.A. from Ceder Crest College, as well as a paralegal certificate from Muhlenberg College. Mary Jean served at several law firms in the Lehigh Valley. She spent the majority of her career with Hanna, Young & Upright in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, before concluding her professional journey at Catania & Catania in Tampa, Florida. She will be remembered as a warm-compassionate, joyfully spirited friend and family member who cherished her children, grandchildren and family. M. J. was a guiding presence in her family, loved animals and rescued unwanted dogs, loved 70’s Rock, especially, The Moody Blues and the Beatle’s of course.
Mary Jean was predeceased by parents Atty. Dean L. Foote and Mary Ann M. Foote. She is survived by Father of her children Fred Sittler, Children: Adam Sittler and his wife Alyssa, Melissa Van Horn and husband Edwin.  Grandchildren: Autumn, Colton, Liam, Hailie, and Lane. Siblings: Louise Foote, Leslie Dillensnyder & husband John, Dean L.C. Foote and wife Elizabeth, and Marion Foote and husband Leslie Ridpath, As well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Mary Jean will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
