We are deeply saddened by the passing of Patricia R. Hoch, 70, on Sunday, May 5, 2024 from gall bladder cancer. Born in Hazleton, Pa., she was the eldest child of the late Dominic M. and Regina R. (Smith) Morenci. She was the loving wife of John P. Hoch. They were high school sweethearts and were married 50 years on April 20, 2024. Pat's parents moved to the Lehigh Valley in 1954 and made it their home. Pat graduated from William Allen High School in 1971 and was a member of the Reunion Committee. During high school and several years thereafter, Pat worked as a typist for Retail Credit Company. After graduation, Pat was admitted to the Accelerated Pilot Program at LCCC for Medical Assisting. She enjoyed a 44 year career in the medical field.Pat was the solo employee for dermatologist Elizabeth Knapper, M.D. for the doctor's entire 23 year career. Pat then worked for Lisa S. Bunin, M.D., Samuel W. Criswell, M.D., Health Network Labs and LVHN Center for Healthy Aging. She concurrently worked for Richard C. Pearce, M.D., Washington Laboratory and David Shingles, D.O.Pat loved the outdoors. She regularly biked the streets of West Allentown, walked her Scottie dogs, swam with her aqua aerobics friends or fed the birds and chipmunks. She and John could be found tending to their picturesque English and tropical floral and vegetable gardens or enjoying them from their patio. In her spare time, Pat loved to complete beautiful cross stitch projects.John and Pat so enjoyed semiannual trips to the East and West coasts of Florida. Their favorite place was Wildwood Crest - Seapointe Village and Cape May, NJ.Pat was a member of the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena Church for 69 years, where she and John were married and helped with the Sunday collection for 25 years.The gift of friendship was so important to Pat. Shopping and lunching with her friends were truly special times. She was the glitter and the glue that kept friendships together. Hoch (fiancée Leslie Richie) and nephew Michael J. Hoch, Jr. (Carin) and their daughters Maylin and Kensley, and niece Kate (Hoch) Altemose (Matthew) and their daughter Brynn; James F. Hoch (Kathleen) and nephew Scott M. Hoch (Laura) and their boys Jackson and Hudson, and niece Jamie L. Hoch; Aunts: Dolores Sashko (Godmother) of Scott Township and Jennie Stola of Tresckow; Godchildren: Frances B. Marsilio, Crystal Gault West and Amanda K. Beaver. The family would like to thank Pat's best friend of 66 years, Bette Storck, for her continuous loving care of Pat in her time of need.Services are private at the convenience of the family and have been entrusted to the Robert C.
