Richard Erwin Meyers, 81, of Allentown, passed away after a battle with heart disease, on November 10, 2022, in his daughter's home Allentown, PA. He was surrounded by his children when he passed away. He was the son of the late Aden Meese and the late Florence Elizabeth (Kiess) Meyers. He served in the Navy as a Machinist Mate III on the USS Bigelow. He worked in Eastern PA as an auto mechanic. He loved building engines for drag racing in his early years and won many events. 1970 at Bluegrass Raceway winning fastest time of 12.41 seconds in G/SA class. 1971 Miami Hollywood Speedway winning first place in his class. He loved attending the Hot Rod car shows, especially Wheels of Time in Macungie. SURVIVORS: daughter: Denise Clark (Thurman Talmadge Jr.) of Allentown; son: Richard Meyers of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren: Brandon F. Meyers, Thurman T Clark III, Madison R. Clark and Zander C Clark; sisters: Joan Goldman of Allentown and Catherine (Flavian) McCullough of Catasauqua, PA. He was predeceased by his son, Bradley Meyers; siblings: Dorothy Sayre, Pauline Derby, and Aden Meyers.
